Hi, I've downloaded an XP Recovery disc from your good selves via a link on this site. It's an ISO image. Can it be burned straight to disc then used to boot up a non-booting pc? Or does it have to be changed into another format? Will ISObuster do this?

Any help is much appreciated in advance, Jon-Paul.

Yes, it will boot a non booting PC to allow you to enter the Recovery Console to perform repair work.

You can download CD Burner XP from here

CDBurnerXP: Introduction and News (http://cdburnerxp.se/)

It will burn ISO's and it's free.

You won't be able to do any install type work with that ISO.

Thanks, I'm giving it a go now.

Right, done all that and it's gone through the steps of loading files etc and stopped at a black screen that wahts me to type something. What do I need to type here?

C:\> ?

I'm trying to repair the registry as this is what I'm told is stopping Windows starting.

Many thanks.
