View Full Version : Windows Meedia Player 11 problem ?

I have recently done a re-install and did have wmp 9 everytime i played a music track or played a dvd etc it would come up with box with message saying ( Windows Media Player has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience) then it says tell microsoft about this problem ie send error report which i have done with wmp 9 and now update to wmp 11 and all it does it let me play one track or bid of dvd and i have to start again and again ???

any advice ??

I have un-installed windows media player 11 and 9 before that and tried re-installing wmp 11 and i got this message can anybody help this was just after it came up saying that i had successfully downloaded wmp 11, please advise ????

when i go to play re-installed this is message i get also, if i click either option it closes down straight away.

Until our experts here can rescue you, I wonder if the below will help ...

"Windows Media Player has encountered a problem and needs to shut down" - This error may occur if the system time is not set correctly, if the basic input/output system (BIOS) time is not set correctly, or both" ... and it shows a few steps to fix the problem.

"Windows Media Player Has Encountered a Problem" Error Message When You Try to Start Windows Media Player (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/827704/en-us)

Hi alfa;
There was a Windows update a few days ago that might relate to your problem.

You cannot play content that is protected by Microsoft Windows Media Digital Rights Manager in Microsoft Windows Media Player 11 after you upgrade Windows Media Player or the operating system (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/959772)
