  • Checksum error on boot up

    Each time I boot the computer it shows a checksum error and stops. I press F1 to load the defaults and all is ok except that I have to set the time and date each time. I have no idea why the system is doing this and would like some help in trying to correct this.

    Hi Ian Smith;

    The most likely cause is a bad CMOS battery. Cheap to buy and easy to replace.

    There are a couple other possibilities but I would try that first;
