Hi

Right-click "My computer" and select properties, Click on the hardware tab and click on "Device Manager"

Click on the + by sound, video and game controllers then right-click on your sound card and select "Update driver"

Tell us if you get stuck.

Also while you are in device manager is there any yellow exclamation marks or red X's by sound devices?

Make a note of the sound card you have installed so you can later update drivers.
Right click sound card in Device manager>remove or delete.
Restart your system.
Update drivers.
