Its a ATAPI Cd-Recordable/Rewritable drive. Ive been searching forever for this particular drive and can any one help in the search for it, i would really appreciate it. The model is again CR-4845TE its an HP cd/rw. It does not specify its name it plainly says HP CD-Writer Plus.

Thanks

This is a strange request as Windows generally detects all optical drives, like that one, automatically and does not need a specific driver. It would help if you could explain exactly what happens that causes you to require this driver; please elaborate.

In my HP Pavilion, I installed a CR 4845te. It appeared installed in device manager, but did not work. Had to go to control panel, system, choose CD rom entered there, went to properties, and a drop down box was there, listing 4-5 diff CR 48x5te, which indicates will work on other numbers as well(as 4885te) The lines are graduated in each listing. I chose the longest line, applied and it worked. It was the first drop down box I ever encountered in installing a cd rom drive
