Having had my trusty little surface RT for a few years now for use when travelling I was horrified yesterday when the Google Search app stopped working properly. Every time I do a search it pauses then comes up with a message saying "Unable to connect to the internet". However everything else is connecting fine. If I use the google from IE it works fine. I have rebooted, reinstalled the app but it makes no difference. After years of working well why should this now suddenly stop? Any help on this appreciated

Hello Joddle...

The easy way out is to delete/uninstall the app.reboot the tablet.

Then reinstall the app, reboot then try connecting again.

Let me know how that goes.

JB.

Tried that two or three times - no good - surprising thing is when using a different wi fi network it started to work fine again - although it was working on the old one before but now I am not there so cant retest - one of life's little oddities I suppose!.
