Hi

I'm facing a weird problem, and I hope somebody will be able to tell me how to fix it.

It seems like everyone can see my site but me.
When I try to load the URL, I get a server time out message.
When I try to load the URL on another machine, the site loads perfectly.

I can't connect with my FTP client either

I've had the same problem once before - it seemed my ip had been blocked by the server firewall due to multiple log in attempts (I forgot my password), and the hosting company was able to fix it by unblocking my ip.

I checked with this hosting company twice, but they say my ip isn't blocked. They don't have a clue what's going on, let alone how to fix it.

I have no idea what could be the cause - I mean, one day everything worked fine, and the next day the server times out again and again.

This has been going on for a couple of days now, and it is really causing me trouble, since I can't get access to my online files.
I was wondering if anyone has an idea what might be going on, and how this whole thing can be fixed?

Greetz!

Can you ping the server ?

Try a tracert (google it) to find out how far the packets are getting.

Come to think of it, I had a simlar problem caused be me and the server being on the same subnet eg -

my ip - 80.42.64.65 subnet - 255.0.0.0 (not real but you get the idea)

server - 80.42.65.78

I did not have time to find a solution with my isp, so I just rebooted my router till I got a non 80. ip. <grin>

good luck
