Hi to all, I'm someone new to this kinda thing so hope I don't offend anyone while trying to follow the rules here

Was actually looking to find a proper answer to a question about getting on to my router since I tried to change the password  and am now not able to get in, friend said I will have to do a hard reset but I would like to avoid having to do so if possible, should I post this as a separate / new thread?
