I have a Toshiba Laptop with CDRW/DVD drive (MA****A UJDA760 DVD/CDRW) and am running XP Service Pack 2.

Of late, the CD drive (has got disabled and I see the below as Device status in the Device Manager:

"A driver (service) for this device has been disabled. An alternate driver may be providing this functionality. (Code 32)"

How has my CD Drive been disabled?
How can I get my CD Drive enabled?

Thanks in advance for the help !

Hello Quafflin

Welcome to Free PC Help

Have you tried uninstalling the drive in Device Manager, restarting and letting Windows find it again?
