operating system on new hard drive.

hi.... my old hard drive has just packed in and i've just bought a new one(blank). my question is will the recovery disc i've created from the old hard drive be sufficient to re-install windows xp on this new blankhard drive. help is much apprecriated

Maybe, maybe not. Some recovery discs are a complete mirror of your system allowing you to put it back byte-for-byte in "as new" condition. However, some check for the presence of a hidden backup partition before allowing the restoration to continue. The worst you can do is try it and see!
