There are a lot of useful tips and links at this page of the Gmail Help Center that might be of assistance.

I've never used gmail or configured it but I'm familiar with OE and Windows mail if the above link does not supply you with the information you need.

I take that to mean you have now set up gmail with Outlook Express and all is working as expected. If so great. If not post back.
