Try double clicking in the top - I kinda remember something about having to double click some common program window to get it to display properly.

If it is what I think he's talking about you just double click in either the "CPU Usage" or in the "CPU Usage History" and it will restore the TABS, or remove them depending on what you want. It is a feature of Task Manger that has been around since the dawn of ages.
