Hi I have searched the internet high and low but I have not got an answer.

I decided to roll back to Windows 8 as I was not happy with windows 10.

To cut a long story short what happend was that I was watching YouTube and I left the room. It seemeed that the computer restarted itself. I am not sure if there was a blue screen of death or anything as i was not in the room.

My computer is only one month old. I have had some problems with AMD before but my brother got new drivers for me from their website as well as setting me up on Windows 10.

This has only happened once today.

On a unrelated matter if anyone is interested Windows 8 is quicker than 10.

Hi ahai1 and welcome to FpcH

One restart is not a cause for concern.
It could be virtually anything that caused it.

If it happens again - and it blue screens - make a note of the STOP error number.
This may give us a clue as to what has caused the problem.

Hopefully it has sorted itself out and will behave from now on.

Keep us posted :)

I might be wrong but I am not always near the computer and I might miss the blue screen of death. Can't I use the task manager to figure out what the problem was?

Download the "Crash Analysis Tool" from here - click here
You will need to scroll down the page a bit.

Install and run it.

The Analyse button will give you any relevant results.
You need to know the date and time of the crash.

Here is the complete report. I am only intersted on stuff on the 26/08/2015. I have no idea what to do.

I have had no crashes since.

Welcome to WhoCrashed (HOME EDITION) v 5.51

This program checks for drivers which have been crashing your computer. If your computer has displayed a blue (or black) screen of death, suddenly rebooted or shut down then this program will help you find the root cause and possibly a solution.

Whenever a computer suddenly reboots without displaying any notice or blue (or black) screen of death, the first thing that is often thought about is a hardware failure. In reality, on Windows most crashes are caused by malfunctioning device drivers and kernel modules. In case of a kernel error, many computers do not show a blue screen unless they are configured for this. Instead these systems suddenly reboot without any notice.

This program will analyze your crash dumps with the single click of a button. It will tell you what drivers are likely to be responsible for crashing your computer. It will report a conclusion which offers suggestions on how to proceed in any situation while the analysis report will display internet links which will help you further troubleshoot any detected problems.

Conclusion

7 crash dumps have been found and analyzed. A third party driver has been identified to be causing system crashes on your computer. It is strongly suggested that you check for updates for these drivers on their company websites. Click on the links below to search with Google for updates for these drivers:

atikmdag.sys (ATI Radeon Kernel Mode Driver, Advanced Micro Devices, Inc.)

If no updates for these drivers are available, try searching with Google on the names of these drivers in combination with the errors that have been reported for these drivers. Include the brand and model name of your computer as well in the query. This often yields interesting results from discussions on the web by users who have been experiencing similar problems.

Read the topic general suggestions for troubleshooting system crashes for more information.

Note that it's not always possible to state with certainty whether a reported driver is responsible for crashing your system or that the root cause is in another module. Nonetheless it's suggested you look for updates for the products that these drivers belong to and regularly visit Windows update or enable automatic updates for Windows. In case a piece of malfunctioning hardware is causing trouble, a search with Google on the bug check errors together with the model name and brand of your computer may help you investigate this further.

Hi

It is suggesting that the problem lies with your Video Card drivers or that the Video Card took too long to respond.

Personally I would leave well alone unless the system blue screens again.
If it does then it may need the drivers updating.

The error log is not very specific and the crash could be caused by numerous factors.

Leave it until it happens again - if in fact it does.

Hi - the most recent log indicates a possible video card driver problem.

These software programs are often helpful but sometimes they can mis-diagnose.

Do the following please:
Windows key + S
type in ..... device manager .... click on Device Manager box that shows below
Click the > next to Display Adapters

What - exactly - is listed ?

Did the card come with a disk for installing its drivers?
If so you need that disk again, the probable cause of your problem could be the drivers were updated for Windows 10 when you installed that, but quite likely unstable for the original Windows 8 or 8.1.

There would possibly be instructions for the correct method of installing the card and its drivers as well if it did come with a disk.

After you install these drivers monitor the system.
Hopefully there should be no more blue screens.

If the MS BDA works for you then this is fine.
Have you tried YouTube and other video?
If this seems to be ok run it for a while and see if it blue screens now.
