i am using a toshiba notebook, my problem is after about 5 minutes of logging on it comes up not responding and freezes, i then have to turn off and start again which is frustrating when your on a forum, this can happen more than 20 times a day, i have a wireless router which worked on and off ,so i connected a usb lead from the router to the laptop, any ideas ?

how hot is this laptop getting...
try resting the laptop on some videos boxes.on a table...so you have at least an inch space under the laptop.
poor air circulating will shut a laptop off. make sure the video boxes DO NOT block the cpu fan.
.....
have you ran anti virus scans etc.
try this one www.trendmicro.com.
post back once you have tried these.
