Windows shut down box

Aug 6, 2007
I have been trying to download adobe reader. Every time I start the download, this box pops up and says "internet explorer has encountered a problem and needs to shut down" I went into system info, and it says these files are missing:
iexplore.exe HELP! I have no idea what is going on. I am running windows xp.

Try to update your internet explorer version to the latest which is 7. Try using windows uupdate as well - it should fix all the problems u might have.
Else u can download firefox, which is an alternative to internet explorer. By the way, iexplore.exe is the executable file for internet explorer. The others are its dependencies.
